Mukudzeyi Mukombe — the voice of a generation. Contemporary Zimbabwean music fused with the soul of mbira and the spirit of Africa.

Born to Praise,
Built to Conquer
Mukudzeyi Mukombe (born July 4, 1987), known worldwide as Jah Prayzah, is a Zimbabwean contemporary musician and the lead member of the band Third Generation. He is popularly referred to by fans and media as "Musoja", the Shona word for "soldier" — a name earned from his signature military regalia performance costume.
The name "Jah Prayzah" derives from "Mukudzeyi", meaning "Praise Him" in Shona. His love for Reggae music led him to adopt "Jah," the Jamaican name for God, fusing both meanings into the iconic stage name known across Africa and beyond.
Born and raised in Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe, a rural district in Mashonaland East Province, he is the youngest of five children. Growing up, the young Mukudzeyi dreamt of becoming a soldier — a dream that would later inspire the military aesthetic that defines his legendary stage presence.
Over 14 albums spanning two decades of genre-defining contemporary Zimbabwean music and Afro-fusion.
